Archery headed to State
Archery headed to State
Our archery team will be competing at the state tournament in Branson on Friday March, 21st at 6:00 pm at the Branson Convention Center near The Landing. These archers have earned the opportunity to compete at state: Halle VanSteenburgh, Calvin Long, Charlotte Dawson, Aden Higgenbotham, Conner Magruder, Eli Magruder, Eli Welch, Tucker Cook, Lee Dedrick, Jacob Haldiman, and Bryce Schoenthal.

Band competes at Conference and State Contests
Band competes at Conference and State Contests
On Thursday, March 6, the Jr. High/High School Band participated in the Show-Me Central Conference Band Contest and received a I rating. On Saturday, March 8, they performed at State Music Contest for the first time in 8 years. It was the first time the band had been eligible to participate because of a 50% rule that was put in place 8 years ago that precludes bands that have more than half of their band students coming from the Jr. High. With almost 3 weeks of snow days since the beginning of the year and preparing fairly challenging music, they walked away with a Silver (Outstanding) rating on their prepared pieces and the top rating on their sight reading. None of these students have ever sight read in front of a judge. Mrs. Lieser is very proud of all the band students that participated. She and the band did a fantastic job and represented JHS well!

Griffin selected as Area 8 Secretary
Griffin selected as Area 8 Secretary
Sophomore, Sophia Griffin was selected to serve as the FFA Area 8 Secretary for 2025-2026. Sophia submitted an application, took a FFA knowledge test, had her official dress evaluated and sat for an in-person interview. After all the points were totaled, she was placed in the top three applicants. Rylee Hirschvogel served as her delegate at the interviews. Sophia is very excited about this opportunity. Congratulations, Eagle!! Serve with distinction!

XC to Compete at State
Alyssa Hees, Senior, and Ayala Deraps, Freshman, will compete in the State XC Meet on Friday, November 8th @ 9:45 am at Gans Creek Recreation Area in Columbia, MO. Tickets need to be purchased online at MSHSAA: Tickets. Good luck, Lady Eagles! Soar!!

Mrs. Abby Breshears

Mrs. Abby Breshears is excited to bring her experience and passion for education to Jamestown as the new K-12 principal. She currently serves as an instructional coach at Emporia Middle School, where she leads professional development for staff, mentors new teachers and oversees assessment implementation and data analysis. She also has experience teaching middle school business and computer courses and has coached as both a head girls' basketball coach and an assistant boys' basketball coach.
Mrs. Breshears earned her bachelor’s degree in business education from Central Methodist University before completing her master’s in educational administration at Emporia State University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in organizational leadership at Rockhurst University.
Growing up in Glasgow, Missouri, Mrs. Breshears developed a deep appreciation for the strong sense of community that small schools provide. She looks forward to fostering that same close-knit environment in Jamestown and building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
Outside of work, Mrs. Breshears enjoys running, playing golf and spending time with family. She got married in December and has been enjoying this new chapter of life. She is eager to contribute to the Jamestown community and is committed to supporting the success of its students.

Mrs. Amber Bouse is excited to begin her journey as Principal at Jamestown C-1. She considers it an honor to lead a school with such stellar students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. She feels fortunate to be part of Jamestown School and excited to support the students, families, and community.
This will be her 9th year in education, working with students in kindergarten through 6th grades for the past 8 years. Mrs. Bouse started her formal education earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Early Childhood, from Drury University. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology at Drury University and Specialist Degree in Administration at William Woods University. She was a member of the Aspiring Leadership Program at Camdenton Schools in 2023-2024. She has served on numerous leadership committees over the years including the building leadership team, attendance committee, parent advisory board, MSTA liaison, and CSIP team.
Mrs. Bouse is excited that serving as Principal at Jamestown will provide her the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Jamestown teachers and staff, while also remaining connected to students learning and growing in the classroom. She is looking forward to working with the staff and community as a partner in education and facilitating the growth of instructional practices at Jamestown.
She currently resides in Camdenton, MO with her husband and youngest son. She has two amazing sons (Logan and Braeden) who have taught her that every child is uniquely different. In her spare time, she loves reading, kayaking, hiking, and enjoying time with family and friends. She grew up in a small rural community and spent her high school years active in the FFA/Vo-Ag program and raising farm animals.
